Kessel Cooper, owner and #1 guide, a native Roatanian, was born in Calabash Bight where he lives with his wife and family. He grew up fishing around Roatan and other Honduran bay islands, and has been taking clients to the flats at the east end of Roatan for many years.

His guiding skills include an uncanny ability to see fish at long distances and varying water depths. Keying on permit and bonefish, whether poling along in his panda or walk-wading at your side, he’ll pick out fish long before they approach so you can be ready when they’re in casting distance.

Soft spoken, he’ll help pick out flies that will work on the chosen flat, then pole the panda or quietly walk you to the ideal casting spot, leaving the rest to you. Between fish, feel free to ask questions: His knowledge of the flats, their characteristics and species, and just how to fish them is simply outstanding.

Jake Cooper

Kessel’s oldest son, Jake, is working at his on-water skills, too, so he can soon join the CPC crew.  He’s as good at finding fish as Kessel. Poling a panga comes natural for any Roatanian, so that skill only needs honing with more time on the water. A hard working guy, he’ll quickly become another asset to the CPC crew.  In addition, several of Kessel’s friends have the skills needed to guide any extra people in your group.
